CHOCOLATE PIE

Last night we had yummy chocolate pie while Daddy was at Priesthood Session of General Conference. It was so pretty I had to take a picture of it! Then the kids were so funny eating it I had to take more pictures. Come on... I know you all licked beaters when you were little... it's the best!

Mom's Chocolate Pie
1 3/4 C. milk
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/4 C. light corn syrup
Whisk together in a sauce pan over low heat until the chocolate is melted.

1/4 C. milk
4 T. cornstarch
1/4 t. salt
2 egg yolks
1/2 C. sugar
mix together and add some to hot chocolate mixture. Stir then add the rest to hot mixture. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. When thick, remove from heat, add 1 T. butter and t. vanilla. Immediately place in baked pie shell, cover with wax paper and chill for several hours. Top with whipped cream.

Whipped Cream
1 pint heavy whipping cream mixed with beater on low until thickened. Add 1-2 T. sugar while beating to sweeten. Top pie and enjoy!

Gracie loved the beaters and thought they were the best until she got her slice of pie. She kept saying "UMMMMM..." the whole time she was shoving her mouth full of chocolate pie!














Emma and John decided they only liked the chocolate inside. They are chocohaulics just like their mommy!
